Balik Bermalam,Outing,Special Outing and Sakit ke Clinic

BLOCK OUTING

For every outing regardless genders, students have to reach KMKt before 7pm. If u fail to scan your matriks card before 7pm, Block Outing will be the penalty for those who come back late. Usually, the security guard will forfeit your matriks card and ask you to claim it back at HEP on school days. You will be told that you are prohibited from outing for 2 weeks. Actually this penalty is not that serious until you will be blacklisted. Therefore, if you are blocked outing, you do not have to worry much. =D

SPECIAL OUTING

Outing day for KMKt is only on weekends. Boys and girls are not allowed to go outing together. For Semester 1, outing day for boys is on every Friday whereas for girls is on every Saturday. Meanwhile, for Semester 2, the outing day for boys and girls are switched. If you want to go outing during weekdays, you are still not allowed to do so unless you are having some emergency cases such as sick (Pls refer to page “Sick/Injured”) or you want to go pharmacy. If you need to go pharmacy urgently, you can ask felo blok to fetch you.

During Balik Bermalam week, if you are going for outing, you still have to follow the outing day according to gender in which you have to scan your matriks card before 7pm (or else you will be blocked outing). But if you want to stay overnight at outside, you have to inform the guard that you want to balik bermalam, and you can come back KMKt the next day without being blocked outing.

(TAKE NOTE: BALIK BERMALAM AND OUTING DURING BALIK BERMALAM WEEK ARE DIFFERENT, YOU MUST TELL THE GUARD PROPERLY BEFORE SCANNING MATRIKS CARD. THIS IS BECAUSE THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT SCANNER.)

BALIK BERMALAM

Balik bermalam is usually once a month. The date will be announced by HEP (have to take note the notice). For kelantanese, u can choose to go back your hometown. For those not from Kelantan, u can choose either to stay in hostel (better wif friends, don't alone), follow kelantanese to his/her hometown or to stay at hotel in Kelantan.

(*HEP WILL ASK THOSE WHO STAY IN HOSTEL TO WRITE NAME SO THAT THEY WILL DECIDE CAFE TO OPERATE OR CLOSE.) Below is the list of hotels/homestay in Kota Bharu recommended by seniors (#You are encouraged to do further research when doing decision):

#Suggestion: U can book your favourite hotel using Agoda apps. If possible, please make the booking 1 week earlier. Do enjoy the hustle and bustle of city in Kota Bharu rather than staying in the isolated hostel ya. KB is a must, don't miss out the opportunity to experience it!

SICK/INJURED

As we know, falling sick and getting injured are inevitable. If these mishap happens on you, especially in KMKt, where you are away from your parents, you are advised to get the treatment here. If it is just a minor ill e.g. cough and fever, the first thing you have to do is to inform your close friends. Ask your friends to help you. After you realise you are not in a good health condition, do not hesitate to go to clinic for a medical check-up. (*if possible, ask a friend to accompany you.) Remem‐ ber to bring your matriks card and IC when you are out.

BUT, THE MAIN CONCERN IS HOW YOU GO THERE? Actually, there are 2 alternatives you can ask help from:

1. During schooling hour (7:30am-4:00pm), you may go to the bilik penyelia/contact him and tell him you want to go to clinic. If can't reach him, you may ask your friend to tell the staff at HEP. They will fetch you to the nearby clinic situated at Kok Lanas (opposite Econjaya). This clinic is governmental, so the queue might be quite long, you have to wait patiently. The clinic operates on weekdays only, from 8am to 5pm.

If you feel like you don't want to wait for long queue, u can choose to go private clinic, which is also situated at Kok Lanas, namely Pusat Rawatan Al-Farhain. It operates 24 hours daily. Bring more money as medical charges at private clinic might exceed RM 30.

2. After schooling hours (after 5pm), you have to contact your own block's felo. They will send you to private clinic also. Felo will send you to private clinic if your illness is minor. If you are injured, most probably they will send you to hospital. Don't worry which hospital/clinic they will send you to, because felo will know more than you.

# If you get serious injury such as leg sprain or serious wound, you are advised to go hospital. Hospital Machang is 29 minutes away from KMKt, and it is a governmental hospital. The charge for consultation costs u RM 1 only. However, the queue is quite long although you go for emergency department. But then don't worry, the doctors are professional. You can get MC from the doctor, and you will be allowed to absent. But, remember after the absent day, you have to photocopy your MC and give it to respective lecturers.

Chicken Pox

If you realise you are having chicken pox’s symptom, please refer your case to felo. Chicken pox is contagious, so you have to get a long period of MC to rest in home. If you are not from Kelantan, you are still advised to back to your hometown.

Charlie insect bite

Charlie is a prevalent insect in KMKt. The blood of these insects contains a strong toxin called pederin that can cause skin and eye irritations. Some of the symptoms include reddening skin, a burning sensation, itching, pain and blisters after a few days. Do be careful as the toxin can spread to other areas of the body and even to other people as well.

If you happen to be bitten, immediately use soap and water to wash the area and seek medical attention if the symptoms are severe. Fucidin H is the cream for charlie insect bite. When you apply this cream, do not directly use hand. Instead, you should use a cotton bud.
